Fabio MASTRANGELO, conductor
Fabio Mastrangelo was born in Italy, the city of Bari. When he was five years old, his father began to teach him to play the piano.
Fabio Mastrangelo graduated from the conservatory to the name of Puccini in his native city, then from a Geneve conservatory and a Royal academy of music in London, in the form of M.Tipo. He attended the master-classes of A. Chickolini, S.Lipkin and P.Badura-Skoda, he received first prizes at the national pianists competitions in Osimo (1980) and Rome (1986).
1986 his first work experience Fabio was an assistant of a conductor in the Bari theatre. He worked with such famous singers as R. Kabaivanska and P. Capucilli. Then Mastrangelo started to take conducting in the Academy of Muisc in Peskar in the form of G.Sirembe and in the university in Toronto. He took classes from such famous conductors as L. Bernstein and K. Osteraichter in Vienna, in the Academy of Saint Chechilia in Rome, attended master-classes of N. Yarvi and D. Panula.
1996–2003 director of a chamber orchestra Virtuosos of Toronto, founded by Mastrangelo. At the same time till 2005 he was an artistic director of a string orchestra of the theatre Hart House of the Torontos university. As a guest conductor, he worked with many orchestras of Canada, Hungary, Estonia, Finland, Romania, Latvia, Berlin chamber orchestra and the State Symphonic Orchestra of the Ukraine.

Starting from 2006 F.Mastrangelo is a musical director of the youngest opera theatre of Italy Fondazione Lirico Sinfonica Petruzzelli in Bari, which is one of the most prestigious theatres together with Milano theatre La Scala, Venice La Fenice, and Naples San Carlo.
His works in the opera theatre: Mozart Figaros Wedding (Argentina Theatre, Rome), Verdi La traviata (opera and ballet theatre to the name of Mussorgsky, Saint-Petersburg), Puccini Bohema (opera and ballet theatre to the name of Rimsky-Korsakov, Saint- Petersburg), Puccini Tosca (opera and ballet theatre to the name of Rimsky-Korsakov, Maryinsky theatre, Saint-Petersburg), Donizetti Anna Bolena (opera and ballet theatre to the name of Rimsky-Korsakov, Saint- Petersburg), Verdi Troubadour (National Opera of Latvia), Kalman Silva (Saint-Petersburg musical comedy theatre).
As a symphonic conductor F.Mastrangelo works with orchestras of Italy, Japan, Russia (Honoured collective of the Russian Federation Academic symphony orchestra and Academic symphony orchestra of Saint-Petersburg philharmonic society, Saint-peterburds Classica, Hermitage, State choir; Symphony orchestra of Karelian state philharmonic society, Kislovodsk symphony orchestra and others).
Collaborates with a record company Naxos.
He periodically performs as a pianist with a Russian cellist S.Slovachevsky.
Starting from 2007 Fabio Mastrangelo is the principal guest conductor of the Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra.
