Gasan Bagirov graduated from the M.I. Glinka Choir School in St. Petersburg, the Pop Department of the M.P. Mussorgsky Music College (class of A. Starostenko), and the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture.

He is a laureate of the D. Ellington Competition (St. Petersburg, 1993), a holder of a scholarship from the Union of Concert Performers of Russia (2000) and a participant in numerous Russian and international music and jazz festivals, including "White Night Swing", "Jazz over the Volga", "Jazz Province", "Usadba Jazz", "Petrojazz", and "Jazz in the Hermitage Garden", as well as festivals in Denmark, Slovakia, Israel, and Estonia.

For his performances of compositions by The Beatles, Bagirov was personally thanked by Sir Paul McCartney. As a producer, he has collaborated with the rock band Lumen, the Alexander Morozov Song Theater, the St. Petersburg-based company Skylink and the Moscow fashion house VQ.

Gasan Bagirov currently teaches at the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture and performs as a soloist with the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic of Jazz Music. He has created a number of jazz programs for the Philharmonic, including "Remembering Montgomery", "Flamenco-Jazz", "Melodies of Love" and "Golden Jazz Hits".
