Olesya Petrova

Olesya Petrova graduated from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Irina Bogacheva) in 2008. Since 2007, she has been a soloist with the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Since 2016, she has been a soloist with the Mikhailovsky Theatre, performing on its stage leading roles of the mezzo-soprano repertoire in operas by Verdi, Mascagni, Dvořák, and Tchaikovsky.

She debuted at the Bolshoi Theatre in 2018 as a guest soloist and is an international competition laureate. Notably, she was a finalist representing Russia at the 2011 BBC “Cardiff Singer of the World” competition and won the 2020 National Opera Prize "Onegin" in the "Primadonna" category.

Her international career spans numerous renowned venues globally, including the Metropolitan Opera, Arena di Verona, Teatro Real, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, alongside extensive performances across Russia, Europe, the Americas, and Asia. She performs a vast repertoire of major orchestral and operatic works by classical and contemporary composers. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as the late Mariss Jansons, as well as Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, and Leo Krämer.
