Biography

Born in Verona, Francesco Ferrarini studied at the Conservatory of Rovigo, the class of Simoncini where he graduated with honors with 10. He attended the courses of Maestro Mario Brunello from 1991 to 1996, while from 1984 to 1999, he studied with Maestro Franco Rossi, whose Ferrarini is considered among the best students. From a young age he won competitions such as: Perosi of Biella, Zamboni Cesena, Nuovi Talenti, and International Competition in Caltanissetta.

As principal cellist and soloist, he has worked with leading ensembles such, I Virtuosi Italiani, I Solisti del Teatro Regio di Parma, Nextime Ensemble, I Filarmonici di Verona, I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani, L’Arte dell’Arco, Parma Opera Ensemble Interpreti Italiani playing in the most important Italian and foreign theaters, to his credit numerous concerts in Italy and abroad.

From 2000 to 2008 he was principal cellist in the Teatro Regio in Parma, collaborating, always as the first part with the Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio di Torino, is currently working as principal cellist with the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venezia.

Ferrarini is very active in chamber music, playing with musicians such as G. Demus, B. Belkin, B.Canino, P. Vernikov, D.Rossi and many others.

He has played under the baton of conductors such as: M.W.Chung, Y. Temirkanov, R. Muti, R.F. de Burgos, D.Kitajenko.

Francesco Ferrarini is a professor of cello at the Conservatory of Music of Adria.

He plays a cello of 1700 of the Italian school.
