Dmitrii Krasnik

Winner of All-Union Competition


Dmitry Krasnyk was born in 1960 in Leningrad. He studied the bassoon at the Special Music School of the Leningrad Conservatory (Prof. L.I. Pechersky). In 1983, he graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory (Prof. K.B. Sokolov). In 1987, Dmitry was the prize winner at the All-Russian Wind Instruments Performers Competition.

Since 1995, he has been performing with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the D.D. Shostakovich St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia and is currently a member of the Leningrad Brass Quintet. Dmitry combines his work as a bassoon solo in the orchestra with performances in various chamber programs. With the orchestra, he has toured in many countries.

Dmitry Krasnik currently combines his work in the orchestra with teaching in the College of Music at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
