Biography

The graduate of the professor Dmitry Vdovin at Moscow Academy of the Choral Arts. In 2008 he became the first prize winner of the 6th International competition “Three Centuries of Classical Romance” (Saint-Petersburg), in 2011, he got the second prize on the International competition “Competizione dell’opers”. He made his debut in Moscow, singing baritone’s part in Delius’ “Eine Messe des Lebens” with the Russian National Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Spivakov. Since 2007, he is the soloist of the Moscow theatre “New Opera” where he sings Onegin and Robert’s parts (“Eugene Onegin”, “Iolanta” by Tchaikovsky), Germont and Count di Luna (“Traviata”, “Il Trovatore”, Verdi), Belcore (“The Elixir of Love”, Donizetti), Figaro (“The Barber of Seville”, Rossini). Since 2014, the soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Opera company where he sings leading baritone parts. He participated in the concert performances of the operas “Eugene Onegin” by P. Tchaikovsky (under the conduction of M. Pletnev within the Big Festival of the Russian National Orhestra in 2012), “La straiera” by Bellini (2014, conducted by Julian Reynolds), “Hamlet” by A.Thomas (2015, Benjamin Pioneer). The foreign engagements of the singer include plays at the Opéra National de Paris (Fénelon's “La Cerisaie”), at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli (Verdi’s “Vespri Siciliani” and Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin”), at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste (Verdi's “Corsaro”), at the Teatro di Bergamo, the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo and at the Opera Giocosa di Savona (“Un Ballo in Maschera” and “Rigoletto” by Verdi), at the Teatro Massimo Palermo and at the Bayerische Staatsoper (“Boris Godunov” by Mussorgsky), at the Greek National Opera (Verdi’s “Vespri Siciliani”), at the Wexford Festival (“Cristina regina di Svezia” by Foroni and “Salome” by Mariotte), at the Theatro Colòn, Buenos Aires (“Madama Butterfly” by Puccini). He participated in the staging Doniyetti’s “Polyeucte” (2015), Verdi’s “Traviata (2017) at the prestigious Glyndebourne Festival Opera. His chamber repertoire includes cycles by M. Ravel, F. Poulenc, P. Tchaikovsky, M. Glinka, romances and songs by S. Rachmaninoff, Fr. P. Tosti, F. Schubert. He cooperates with the pianists S. Skigin and D. Sibirtsev.
