Biography

Born in 1982 in Leningrad.

Conductor of the Mariinsky Theater Stage Orchestra (since 2016).
In addition, he acts as a conductor of a number of performances of the Mariinsky Theater:
"Le Jeune Homme et la Mort", "Les noces" ("The Wedding"), "Carmen Suite".

July 2018 – production conductor of the ballet "Pulcinella" (music by I. Stravinsky, choreography – Ilya Zhivoy).

May 2017 – debuted as an opera conductor in the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theater with the world premiere of the opera “The Speculator” by V. Kruglik.

He performs as a symphony conductor with the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky NewMusic Ensemble and the Mariinsky Theater Brass Ensemble, the Vladikavkaz Symphony Orchestra (a branch of the Mariinsky Theater). In 2016 –2019 he conducted concerts of the Brass Evenings at the Mariinsky Subscription.
Initiator of the Mariinsky Theater Concert Brass Orchestra (2017).

Since 2015, he has been studying at the StPetersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory at the Faculty of Symphony Conducting (Professor V.Altshuler).

In 2005 – co-founder of the percussion ensemble “Renaissance Percussion”, which gives at least 4 – 5 concerts annually on the stage of Mariinsky Concert Hall.
In 2017, at the invitation of Ardani Artists, this ensemble participated in the ballet “Dreamers” (producer S. Danilyan), which premiered in the Mariinsky Theater and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater.
A.Shuplyakov is the author of several works for percussion instruments: “Not Brazilian Way”, “In the arms of the desert”, “7/8”, “Lake Chad”, as well as transcriptions for an ensemble of percussion instruments.

In 2005 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. ON. Rimsky-Korsakov as a performer on percussion instruments (class of prof. S. Antoshkin).
Since 2000 he has performed as a member of the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra.
From 2013 to 2017 – timpani soloist.
As a member of the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, he toured in more than
30 countries around the world. He worked with such conductors as Esa-Pekka
Salonen, Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, Kshishtof Penderetsky, Christoph Eschenbach,
Yuri Bashmet, Placido Domingo, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Justus Frantz, Pierre Boulez, Tugan Sokhiev.
