Biography

Mexican tenor Jesus Leon has won the hearts of the opera art-lovers all over the world.

Born in Hermosillo, Mexico. He was a student of the Solti Accademia di bel Canto, the Boston Opera Institute and the Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program at the Los Angeles Opera (2006 – 2007). In Italy he trained for two years (2009 - 2010) under the guidance of the legendary soprano Mirella Freni, who grant him the Nicolai Ghiaurov scholarship.

Jesus Leon performs at the best opera venues and takes part in the prestigious international festivals. His recent engagements have included Pâris in La Belle Hélène at the Chatelet Theatre in Paris, Elvino in La sonnambula at Teatro Comunale Ferrara and Teatro Alighieri Ravenna, Arturo in I Puritani at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Tebaldo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, Nadir in Les pêcheurs de perles at Teatro Regio in Parma and others.

His intense concert activities have taken him to the leading venues of the USA, Cuba, Great Britain, Belgium, Italy and Mexico with various programs.

Coming engagements include participation in the opera gala-concert at the Leighton House Museum in London, opera parts such as Romeo in Roméo et Juliette at The Royal Opera House Muscat (Oman), as well as performances at the Liederhalle in Stuttgart (Germany), at the Royal Albert Hall in London with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste (Italy) as Nadir in Les pêcheurs de perles, at the Nice Opera (France) in Rigoletto and La fille du régiment, at the prestigious opera festival in Sankt Margarethen (Austria) in Rigoletto and at The Royal Opera House Covent-Garden.
