"Phil Blech"

Cancelled concert
Brass-ensemble “Phil Blech Wien” is a team of 15 musicians from one of the best brass bands in the world - the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is a unique orchestra that is functioning without a conductor from 1993. Each of its artists  is a unique musician of the highest class. Together they manage to create a real magic: each listener seem to be surrounded with  the sound stream, which bring incredible pleasure and relaxation. It is not a surprise that professionals of such a high level need more creative space for expression of their performance abilities. To achieve this goal they often create chamber ensembles. “Phil Blech Wien” is one of the most famous.
This year “Phil Blech Wien“ celebrates its 10th anniversary. The ensemble consists of six musicians playing the trumpet, three musicians playing the Vienna horn, as well as  three trombonists, two drum-players and a conductor Anton Mittermayr. The goal of the team is not only to maintain and develop the traditions of the Viennese brass instrumental music, but also to give them a new creative impulse.
The ensemble „Phil Blech Wien“ achieved success very quickly, as its uniqueness lies not only in the talent of each individual participant, but, above all, in their synergy.
The team repertoire consists mainly of compositions from symphonic and opera literature in an exclusive musical processing for the brass orchestra. The ensemble finds new forms of performing popular compositions while maintaining the best traditions of the Viennese brass instrumental and percussive music.
On their anniversary the band members are visiting our city to give the only one performance for Petersburg music lovers. The concert will be opened with Fanfares of Vienna Philharmonic followed by Overture to Mozart‘s opera „The Magic Flute“. There will be also presented the works of  Strauss, Rossini, Beethoven, Wagner and many other composers. At the end of the concert „Phil Blech Wien“ will perform The Grand Finale of the second act of the opera „Aida“.
