Alexey Bogorad

Biography
Alexey Bogorad was born in 1979, in Moscow. His father, Vladimir Bogorad, brilliant bassoonist, winner of “Prague Spring” competition (1968), later well-known as a conductor and music arranger, gave him first music lessons in the early childhood. After graduating famous Central Music School, Alexey studied in the Moscow State Conservatory and aspiranture as a clarinettist. He won number of International clarinet competitions, being active chamber and solo player. As a principal clarinetist worked at the Bolshoy Theater orchestra for almost 15 years. At the same time since 2001-2011 he was a soloist of Russian National Orchestra as well.
As a soloist of orchestra played under the leadership and accompanying such legendary musicians as: Mstislav Rostropovich, Evgeny Svetlanov, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Valery Gergiev, Youry Temirkanov, Paavo Berglund, Zubin Metha, Charles Dutoit, Michel Plasson, Michail Pletnev, Martha Argerich, Vadim Repin, Efim Bronfman, Nicolay Luganskiy, Maxim Vengerov, and others.
Since 2004 Alexey studied conducting with Professor Fuat Mansourov in Kazan State Conservatory. In 2006-2009 studied in a Moscow State Conservatoire with Professor Gennady Rozhdestvensky and graduated with honors. Won fellowship from American academy of conducting at Aspen festival (USA).
For those years he founded soloist ensemble of Russian National orchestra and performed on some major festivals of contemporary music and other events. Recorded 2 CD's with classical ballet music for “Columbia records” label with Russian Radio orchestra. Leaded production of “Nutcracker” ballet in Oita city (Japan). Performed with Russian State chamber orchestra, Tatarstan State symphony orchestra, Lithuanian State State symphony, Ukraine National Symphony orchestra and others.
After brilliant victories on both: “Stefan Tourchak” and “Lovro Von Matacic” International conducting competitions (2010, 2011) Alexey gets promoted as one of leading young Russian conductors. Being chosen by Vladimir Jurovskiy as his assistant in Svetlanov State Symphony orchestra, made his debut with this orchestra in 2011. Alexey performes with major Russian symphony orchestras, such as: Russian National Orchestra, National Philarmonic, Svetlanov State Symphony, Tchaikovsky Symphony, Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic performing symphony pieces by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, R.Strauss, Berlioz, Wagner, Dvorak, Sibelius, Barber and others.
After overcoming all Russian competition in 2011 Alexey Bogorad becomes a resident conductor at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. In his repertoire such masterpieces as: “May Night”, “Wozzek” , “Don Giovanni”, “Ruslan and Ludmila”, “Fiery Angel”, “Tosca”, “Madam Butterfly”, “Flying Dutchman”, “Iolanta”, “Faust”, as well as “Giselle”, “Swan Lake”, “Nutcracker”, “Bayadere”, “Jewels” and others. Performs as a guest conductor at various Russian opera companies. Made his recent debut at Prague National Theater.
