Jacek SYKULSKY, conductor 

 

He is a composer and conductor. He was born in 1964 in Poznan. He attended Jerzy Kurczewski Poznan Choir School, as a child he sang in the Poznan Boys' Choir. Jacek Sykulski graduated from the Academy of Music in Poznan, where he attended the composition and clarinet class. He completed a scholarship in Canada. He became famous as a composer in 1991 when he wrote Abba Ojcze ('Father'), the hymn for the VI International Youth Day - for the meeting with the Holy Father in Czestochowa. He wrote many other compositions and adaptations for choir. His music is performed by numerous reputable artists (i.a., Star-Scape Singers, Chicago a cappella, Affabre Concinui). Since 1996 he has been Conductor and Artistic Director of the Adam Mickiewicz University Choir in Poznan. Since September 2003 he has been Director of the Poznan Boys' Choir.
