Alexander SHUSTIN, violin

A.Shustin is a concertmaster of The St.Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Honored artist of Russia.

Graduated from Novosibirsk Conservatory, he started his career in The Novosibirk Symphony Orchestra. Laureate of The International Violin Competition (Zagreb, 1981)

Since 1992 – soloist and concertmaster of The St.Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra. In the same year he became a leader of Stravinsky Quartet and began to study in St.-Petersburg Conservatory.

As the concertmaster of The St.Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra took part in tours in Russia and abroad (UK, Germany, France, Turkey, Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Swiss, Luxembourg, Spain, Taiwan). As soloist performed with philharmonic orchestras of Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk and with orchestras of Ankara, Istanbul, Zagreb.

Collaborated with famous conductors, such as: E.Svetlanov, G.Rozhdestvennsky. Y.Temirkanov, A.Kaz, V.Sinaysky, G,Provatorov, Y.Toyama, K,Komazu, J.-P.Totrelier, R.Trory, M.Hoffmann, W.Nelson and others.

A.Shustin has also his own recitals in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Minsk, Kiev, also in Spain, Germany, France, Norway and Japan.

Shustin is an invited concertmaster in orchestras "Fiord Cadenza" and "More and Romsdal" in Norway, and also soloist, concertmaster and conductor in "Hacettepe unversitesi orchestra" (Ankara, Turkey).

For many years Alexander Shustin worked in the structure of competitive committees as a member of jury (USA 1992, Norway 2000, Turkey 2003). In April 2004 Shustin has been given the rank of associate professor.
