Rainer ROOS, conductor
Rainer Roos, conductor and pianist, was born in Stuttgart and started piano lessons at age of six, violin lessons – at age of 7.
1991-1993 – conductor of the Stuttgart State Opera; 1995-1998 - of the Heidelberg Symphonу Orchestra. In 1996 Rainer Roos was invited as conductor assistant to the world famous festival in Bayreuther (Bayreuther Festspiele). In 1998 in the City of Backnang (near Stuttgart) the festival “Backnang Classic Ope®n Air” was founded, nowadays it's an annual event with Rainer Roos as musical director. Equally, in 1998 Rainer Roos was engaged as a chief conductor to Theater der Stadt Baden bei Wien. In 2003 he was invited as the first German conductor to be a guest conductor at Johann-Strauss-Kapelle Wien. Since 2004 he has been conducted operas at the Vienna State Opera. 2004-2009 Rainer Roos was chief conductor of the Magdeburg Opera House.
He collaborates with Baden-Baden Orchestra, Wurttemberg Philharmoniker, Heidelberger Philharmoniker, Savaria-Orchestra Szombathely, Konzertvereinigung Stuttgarter Staatsopernchor, Paris chamber orchestra ”Les Solistes de Bourgogne”, Johann-Strauss-Capelle Wien, Stadt. Orchester Baden bei Wien, Magdeburger Philharmoniker, Symphonieorchester Volksoper Wien, Orchestra Vienna State Opera, Orchestra and Choir of WDR as well as with Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.
