Svetlana KRJUCHKOVA was born in Kishinev. Graduated from the Studio-school at the Maly Artistic Academic Theatre. Worked at the Maly Artistic Academic Theatre (from 1973), at the Leningrad Gorky Academic Bolshoy Drama Theatre (from 1975).
Since 1973 has been successfully starring in films "Prize", "the Older Son", "The Tsar's Hunt", etc.
Winner of the "Nika" Prize (1990).
Her theatre works include Ljuba ("Fancies of Farjatiev"), Aksinja ("Quiet Don"), Kupavina ("Wolfs and sheep"), Vassilisa ("At the bottom"), Mother Kurazh ("Mother Kurazh and her children"), Ranevskaja ("Сherry orchard").
Collaborates with Russian Poetry Foundation in St.Petersburg, performs with different poetic programs, including poems of Baratynsky, Pushkin, Lermontov, Tjutchev, Bunin, Brodsky, Mandelshtam, Akhmatova, Tsvetaeva, Petrovykh. National Actress of Russia.
