Ilia GRINGOLTS

Ilia GRINGOLTS was born in 1982 in Leningrad. Studied in Julliard school, New-York, (class of I.Perelmann).

Laureate of the many international competitions. Made his debut with orchestra (Moscow symphony orchestra under the guiding of V.Ziva), when he was 11 years old at the Grand Hall of Moscow Philharmonia.

Played also of with St.Petersburg philharmonic orchestras, "Moscow soloists" under the guiding of Y.Bashmet, orchestras of Saratov and Nizhny Novgorod.

Performed intensively with leading orchestras of USA, Canada, BBC (London), Melbourne, Tokyo under the guiding of A.Dmitriev, V.Ziva, M.Schostakovich, V.Sinaysky, L.Slatkin etc. Participated in the different International festivals, collaborated with N.Gutman, Y.Bashmet, V.Repin, V.Tretiakov, L.-O.Andsnes.
Recorded 4 CDs for Sweden firm "BIS". In March, 2001 signed contract with Deutsche Grammophon.

In October 2007, he appeared in a gala concert in Osaka to mark the 25th anniversary of the Osaka Symphony Hall.

He performes at the Palau de la Musica, Milan Serate Musicali and summer festivals including Beethoven Bonn, Verbier, Lucerne, Moritzburg and Colmar. He will present the complete cycle of Beethoven sonatas at Verbier and in subsequent tours to Italy and Spain. He will attend the 2008 Dvorak's Prague International Music Festival and the 2009 Enescu Festival.

In addition to his three previous Deutsche Grammophon GmbH discs, in 2007 he recorded the Beethoven Triple Concerto with Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela/Abbado for DGG. Most recently, he won a Gramophone Award for his Taneyev Chamber Music CD for DGG.
